Ask ‘n Bask
Do do do do do do do… A song perhaps? Actually, no. More like a mantra, spinning around and around in the mind of the do-er, dictating the doer’s existence. It also sounds like the kind of thing a baby leaves in it’s diaper for you. Could it be a song, yes. But it could also be poop. It depends on how you balance it. It takes you to activate ‘do’ into a song instead of a boo-boo. Some get the idea that doing is being alive. Doing is being productive. Doing is mandatory….yadayadaya. Not to knock the value of doing, it’s just that doing has its place and it doesn’t need to be the forerunner of your existence here while you are physically focused. We’ve already got that the body is the vehicle for the Mind, and not the other way around. And if you didn’t know that, you can know it now.
So doing is only part of the equation. The other part is be-ing. For example, as a co-creator, I intended blue skies and nature-made clouds. I’m absolutely sure that others were holding the same consciousness for that picture to manifest into this world, because it manifested, and it manifested grrrreeeat! As I held this thought continually, I went about my life and did, did, did, the whole entire time, holding this thought, this beautiful idea. Which is by the way, what you are, a beautiful idea in the Mind of Source. So, here I am, holding the idea, and doing my life, holding the idea, and doing my life. Before you know it, there’s the blue skies and natural clouds. Now, did I keep doing and doing? NO. Absolutely not. I let myself completely bask in the beauty of the gift I received. For a good while, perhaps days, I did NOTHING. Nothing but appreciate it….and feed and clothe myself.
There is a time to do and a time to not do. It’s called basking. If you can’t bask in what you’ve co-created, then what’s the point of having it manifest? Within the basking state are the elements of being and appreciation. It’s like this. Imagine this….something you’ve really wanted, suddenly gets gifted to you. Your friend, one day, brings you a gift, and it’s something you have really been wanting. You get the present…get it…present-the now….in your hands, and the next thing you do is put it down, and go and mop the floor. You never say thank you, you never acknowledge the gift. You never even look at your friend or give them a hug…or anything. Nada…like it never happened. What fun is that? That’s what’s happening when, as a co-creator, we set an intention, hold it, and then receive the gift of its manifestation, but never take the time to bask in it. To just STOP, be in the present…get it…gift-present…to appreciate it and to just beeeeeee in the apprecitation of it. BUT, say on the other hand, your friend brings you the gift, the thing you have been wanting, and you STOP, you express gratitude, you receive it, you appreciate it, you thank your friend. Then, you’re stepping into the realization that you played a part in the whole thing. You get to experience yourself as a co-creator! What???! How amazing is that??! To realize that everything that is coming to you, you allowed, and I do mean everything! Even the things that you may not like, a sense of appreciation is present because you innerstand you contributed to bringing it in, so you’re never, ever, never, ever, never a victim. Now ‘that’s fun! There’s always a gift, a present, sometimes it just takes telling the truth to yourself to see it.
I’ll tell you this, ‘shake n’ bake’ has got nothing on ‘ask n’ bask.’ So when you get your ‘do’ in sync with your ‘be’, you be one bad mamma jamma (so seventies). In other words, you are one kick-ask n’ bask co-creator. And basking lets you ‘jam’ to the beat of the song you just co-created. Sing, sing, sing! your song, sing it LOUD, sing it STRONG! Now put them dancing shoes on and go and get your dance on! In the words of Diana Ross & the SUPREMES….STOP in the name of love!
